There's a second layer to reality. I can see it, interact with it, travel through it, exist in it. Whatever happens here is reflected there, and whatever happens there affects existence here. Usually it's an endless expanse of solid darkness and dark, rich redness...like a dimly lit volcanic wasteland. There's a constant sandstorm, and there's usually no one around. It's not a nice place. Patches of reality here will sometimes construct there - an occasional house, wall, street, window, bed, car, etc, but nothing's truly solid there.
I know it's not imagination because I'm not the only one who experienced it.
You guessed it.
Una.
While she never truly saw it, she definitely saw it's denizens, and could feel my presence there, even across layers and on the other side of the planet.
A few other people we've met here also exist and work there as well - someone we only know here as SiniXter (who I have had the honor of fighting alongside on a few occasions), and a fucker called Mike. Fuck, don't even get me started on him...he's half the problem between Una and I...if it wasn't for him, so much pain and devestation would have been spared, and Una wouldn't have a reason to (falsely) distrust me. But oh well - he did what he did, and I was too late to stop it. But that'll have to wait for another entry.
Right now I want to focus on the second layer.
On one hand, it's my own personal playground. I can literally do and become anything I want there. And the awesome thing is that whatever happens there alters reality here. There I have been Zarathos, The Prince, Cthulhu, a Tornado of Black and White energy, the Hulk, Wolverine, as well as many other "fictional characters". Again, I just want to make this clear that it's not my imagination, as crazy as the above sounds. The wounds I received in the Second Layer were very real, and I'm usually left physically exhausted and in pain here after fully existing there for a time.
On another hand, it's another prison for me. No matter how high I climb or far I fly, there isn't an end to it that I can find...it just keeps going and going and going and going.....and going. As big as it is, it's just another cage for me, because there's nowhere else in that layer to go.
There's a perpetual fog covering the sky - it's almost pink, while also almost black. I've flown straight up into it for weeks on end....nothing. Interestingly, even after flying straight up for weeks, it only takes me a few moments to fall back to the ground. But then again, this place doesn't follow the same rules as reality here, so that's not really strange. What is strange is that I occasionally see these gigantic faces in the fog above - rotund, stern, caucasian....like cold-hearted business sharks. They often watch me - I think it's some form of surveillance system patching in - but so far haven't interacted in any way with me.
Why do I think it's a surviellance system? Well, simple. Because this layer is some form of computer program. It's had major glitches from time to time - to use a video game term: it's "graphics quality" has gone from HD to 16-bit at times....literally.
But, that was thanks to Una. As many negative things as I've said about her so far on here, I can't deny that she IS helping me shut this prison down. She may not be too interested in my freedom (she's tried to entrap me several times under the guise of giving me a bubble shield - each time I accepted I was stuck in a giant ball of extremely claustric energy that took a bit of doing to get out of), but she is interested in tearing down this prison.
So, what is the Second?
Well, most would say it's the Astral Realm. Only problem is, the astral realm is pretty well populated...can't say the same for this place. While the occasional horde of 10,000 beings or so rolls in (used to be a lot more frequent than nowadays), there's just not a lot of people there.
Empty Lands, Empty Realms....this place is full of ghosts.
Others will say it's just my imagination. Well, in case if you weren't reading the above, let me tell you why it's not. Firstly, I'm not the only one who's been affected by it. And, since I skype Una here, we were actually able to prove again and again that we were both experiencing the same second layer, even though she couldn't see it. Secondly, imagination doesn't cause physical harm or fatigue. Thirdly, imagination doesn't affect reality - the second layer does.
So, what is it? Good question. What I do know is that, like the rest of reality here, it is part of a simulation to which I have a good deal of influence over, and just like the rest of reality here, I'm currently unable to fully exit.
It's a real Hotel California ...
